Drawing + Painting: 5th-8th grade (Arvada)

A 12-session Drawing + Painting course for 5th–8th graders who love making art and want to develop skills while creating original work. It takes place at artSPARK Creative Studio (6644 Wadsworth Blvd) in Arvada. Students work in a choice-based format, using their own ideas while learning techniques and concepts like real artists. Instruction emphasizes the full creative process—exploring, planning, refining, and reflecting—so projects vary based on each child’s pace and interests. Expect non–cookie-cutter artwork: kids aren’t forced to use techniques before they’re ready, and observation is encouraged as part of learning. The class includes small-group support plus 1:1 guidance during studio time. Each student can choose either a matted frame for a finished piece or a canvas. The final class includes an optional in-person showcase, with families invited for the last 15 minutes for an Artist’s Celebration. Note: sessions may be canceled if fewer than 5 students enroll, so early registration is encouraged.
