Colorado Brazil Fest Kids Workshop

Colorado Brazil Fest Kids Workshop

Kids Workshop – (Saturday August 8, 11:00AM-12:30PM)

Join Dandha da Hora for a fun, hands-on introduction to the vibrant rhythms, songs, and dances of Brazil! Drawing from her deep roots in Afro-Brazilian traditions and her experience with the renowned cultural group Ilê Aiyê, Dandha guides children through the exciting world of samba reggae, samba afro, and other Afro-Brazilian cultural expressions in an engaging and age-appropriate way. Kids will explore rhythm through drumming, singing, dancing, movement, and interactive group activities while learning about the rich cultural traditions and history behind the music.

Recommended for ages 6–13. A parent or guardian must remain present throughout the workshop.

Bring a Brazilian drum (such as a surdo, caixa, or agogô)—or even a Home Depot 2 or 5 gallon bucket—if you have one. Otherwise, you're welcome to borrow one of the instruments (or buckets) provided at the workshop.
