Your Song
Your Song is an interactive installation by Colorado artist Laura Shill. Shill's art practice is relational and somatic, but disguised as a material practice. She makes sculptures or environments that invite people into an unexpected relationship with each other, or create space to imagine other possibilities or ways of being together.
With Your Song, on view October 25, 2026, through April 24, 2028, Shill has reimagined the museum's Precourt Family Discovery Hall into a functional karaoke lounge. Visitors are invited to enter through a series of curtains and into an intimate performance space that's reminiscent of a diva's dressing room.
A user-friendly karaoke interface and sound system makes it simple for participants to choose a song, grab the mic, and take the stage. Perhaps equal parts joy and angst, this karaoke lounge offers a chance to take a risk, let your voice be heard, and connect with others. At its core, Your Song is an invitation to sing your heart out in the museum.
