USS Cordilleran’s Annual Charity Ball
Northern Colorado — September 19, 2026, 6pm-11pm — The USS Cordilleran: Northern Colorado’s
Star Trek, Science Fiction, and Fantasy Group is set to transform fandom into meaningful community
impact with a charitable event celebrating science fiction, fantasy, and the power of collective action.
On September 19, 2026, the USS Cordilleran will host a Star Trek, science fiction, and fantasy–themed
fundraiser in support of Project Self-Sufficiency of Northern Colorado, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to
helping low-income single parents achieve lasting economic independence.
The upcoming fundraiser will feature a science fiction and fantasy costume party and silent auction at the
Lyric, Fort Collins, Colorado, from 6:00pm-9:00pm, immediately followed by an outdoor screening of a
Star Trek movie beginning at 9:00pm. This event brings together the broader science fiction and fantasy
universes, creating a welcoming environment where fans and community members alike can connect
while contributing to a powerful cause.
The USS Cordilleran will donate majority of the ticket sales and all money raised from the silent auction
to Project Self Sufficiency of Northern Colorado. For nearly four decades, Project Self-Sufficiency of
Northern Colorado has helped families break cycles of poverty by providing access to education,
workforce training, and personalized support services. Central to its approach is the concept of
“SelfPower”, which equips parents with the tools, confidence, and guidance needed to build stable,
thriving futures for themselves and their children.
By aligning the hopeful ideals of Star Trek and science fiction with tangible community impact, the
fundraiser highlights how fandom can serve as a powerful force for good. Proceeds from the event will
directly support Project Self-Sufficiency’s programs.
