Deep Time Detour

About This Event

Travel through 300 million years of Colorado history at Dinosaur Ridge’s new “Deep Time Detour” exhibition at the Martin G. Lockley Discovery Center near Red Rocks. Opening Memorial Day weekend, the immersive experience features life-like prehistoric recreations, touchable displays, murals, hands-on exhibits, and interactive educational experiences representing six different geological time periods in Colorado’s natural history. The grand opening celebration will take place from 9–10 a.m. on May 19. Timed exhibit entry reservations will continue throughout the day until 5 p.m., with limited walk-up tickets available based on capacity. A food truck will also be onsite at the Main Visitor Center from 10 a.m.–3 p.m. Visitors can also take advantage of RTD’s new free Westracks shuttle launching Memorial Day weekend, with service between Golden and Morrison and a stop at Dinosaur Ridge approximately every 15 minutes throughout the day. Visitors are encouraged to use Red Rocks Entrance 1 off Highway 93 and arrive at least 10 minutes before their timed entry. Online reservations are recommended to guarantee entry.
