About This Event
Red Bull Soapbox Race returns to the Mile High City for the first time in 18 years, taking over Empower Field at Mile High on Saturday, June 13. One of only two U.S. stops on this year's tour, Denver will welcome forty-six teams armed with handmade soapbox crafts, hometown pride, and a whole lot of nerve to prove that Denver builds things differently. From aerospace engineering to mountain culture, craft brewing to Latino heritage, Colorado's range of industries, communities, and passions will all be represented on the start ramp. Every team must survive a 30-foot drop into the course before navigating a gauntlet of obstacles to the finish line. But speed alone won't win it. Before they even touch the start ramp, teams must perform a themed skit in front of the judging panel, because in Red Bull Soapbox Race, showmanship counts just as much as horsepower. This year's judges are a lineup built for Denver: athletes, entertainers, and personalities who know a thing or two about going fast, taking risks, and having fun doing it. Quinn Meinerz: Denver Broncos Offensive Lineman Juanpa Zurita: Mexican actor and internet personality Bobby Brown: Red Bull Freeski Athlete, Olympian, and Colorado native Carson Pickett: Denver Summit FC Defender Amy Chmelecki: Red Bull Air Force aerialist and world record holder One course. Countless obstacles and zero brakes. The whole city is invited on June 13th to this free public event. See you at Empower Field at Mile High.
