Friday, June 19 · 7 pm - 8:30 pm The Museum welcomes back Sundance Film Festival for a special curated evening of short films by Black filmmakers in celebration of Juneteenth, the day in 1865 when Union soldiers arrived in Galveston, TX to announce that all enslaved people in the state were free, officially putting an end to slavery in the United States. Co-presented with the Longmont Juneteenth Community Celebration on Saturday, June 20 from 10am to 2pm at Longmont’s Roosevelt Park. 6:30pm Meet & Greet / 7:00pm Screening Screening to be followed by a conversation with filmmaker Darol Olu Kae and Stephanie Owens, Sundance Film Festival Programmer.
